檳城暹羅路炒粿條 Char Kuey Teow @ Siam Road Penang

好幸運,這檔就在酒店那條街的街口!
I was very lucky. This stall is near to my hotel. It is really just "around the corner".

有何特別?炒粿條的那位老先生夠老咯!他用炭火炒哩!他一邊炒一邊扇炭火哩!
What's so special? The cook is old enough. LOL. He uses charcoal but cooking gas to fry the Kuey Teow. I  saw him fanning the charcoal fire a few times to increase the temperature.

好多人哦!現吃的都坐在對角頭間的咖啡店等粿條。排隊打包的也不時來了很多。余足足等了九十分鐘哩!熱飲都變冷了。
So many customers! All the dine-in one were waiting at the coffee shop located just opposite the stall. The coffee shop sells nothing but toast and drinks. Those who put take-away order were queing for the fried kuey teow. I waited for around 90 minutes for my portion to be served. :(

正饑腸轆轆時,粿條上桌了。小小碟的,看起來好油!趁熱吃,香哦!佐料有臘腸雞蛋豆芽蛤蚶等。炭香味我沒留意哦!但真的很熱。
Finally my Fried Kuey Teow was served. The portion looks small. It looks oily too. But it is really delicious! The cook put much pork oil to add the fragrance I guess. I did not notice the charcoal taste but the Kuey Teow was really hot. There are ingredients such as chinese ham, egg, bean strouts, clam. Nice!

這炒粿條好吃是好吃,但也只是勝過其它的那么一點,要等那么久,余覺得沒什么值得。
This Char Kuey Teow was nice but only surpasses the rest a little. If you do not like waiting then I do not recommend you to take this.

但若君沒吃過,余建議君花些耐心等等吧!因為就是好吃!
But I still think you should try it if you never try this particular stall before.
